New Members are always Welcome.
First you have to register on the club website after which you can contact us and book on to a club meet so you can check us out and experience a club outing.
If you're a bit nervous about coming along to a club outing without knowing someone then you can either contact us and arrange to meet someone there, or join us on Facebook to virtually meet some of the members first., introduce yourself, and arrange to do something at the weekend with club members (club meets which have places available for prospective members). Facebook may also be useful to arrange a walk with a member if you don't want commit to a weekend before meeting someone.
- Attend 3 formal or informal meets with existing members that will be reviewed by the committee. This can be as simple as going on an informal day walk with a member(s), or you're welcome to come along on a weekend meet to check we're the sort of club you'd like to be part of!
- After registering on this site you will have the opportunity to join us for three weekend meets as a provisional member.
- This introductory period is quite a common feature with clubs and gives you the opportunity to check us out (and we you) before you making the decision to join.
This usually takes place over a 4 to 6 month period at the end of which you will have gotten to know us fairly well and if all is in order you can go forward an become a full member of the club on payment of the membership fee.
So how much does it cost: Our fee at the moment is £25 per anum of which approximately £15.00 goes towards a Mountaineering Scotland membership which is purchased on your behalf at the special club rate. (normally £29.00) The balance of the membership fee is allocated to club funds and it pays for various other running costs in the club.
Then check out the upcoming meets on the home page, where once logged in, you can enroll in the meet and make the required payment for accommodation prior to attending.
All that's left to do is turn up and enjoy walking with us.
